Blackie…aka THE BANDIT

This guitar was stolen from our shop 2 years ago but was recently recovered when it surfaced on Facebook Market Place. Originally listed new for $3500, it is now being offered at a reduced price of $1800 due to the bandit's "custom relic job" he did to it. We gave it a thorough checkup and did the repairs. And now, other than the cosmetic dings and scratches, it still plays and sounds like a dream.

Godfather Guitars Model '21 in Tri-Black on Black. This is a one piece Poplar solid body with complex body contours. The weathered top is highlighted by a flat black faux binding leading to a high gloss black multi-angled beveled edge. The side is flat black and the back is high gloss black. The Tri-color gives the complex body contours added depth and dramatic appeal.

Notable appointments include:

- Graph Tech Ratio Tuners- they provide gear ratios to each string position so that every string responds the same as the others for a consistent, easier and more precise tuning adjustment. We then recessed the tuners, enabling a thicker headstock for added strength. This also reduces warping or bend back found on thinner headstocks.

- Hidden Truss Rod- the Truss rod mounting slot inside the neck begins between the nut and first fret. This maximizes the strength of the neck to headstock transition point which is normally prone to breaking if the guitar is dropped (common LP problem). Our design makes the neck nearly impossible to crack. The truss rod adjustment is accessed through the neck pickup cavity.

- 45 degree angle through body string hole design. We use Graph Tech's ResoMax bridge which not only provides great tone but is by far the most comfortable bridge on the market in our opinion. But we take it one step further and pull the strings through the body at a 45 degree angle for three reasons. First this provides a super comfortable palm muting position since the tail piece is no longer in the way. You can roll your palm forward and back without an interference. Second, it eliminates the stress on the string which typical is bent at close to a 90 degree angle and the point of string breaks. And three, its all about sustain for days.

- Beautiful Birds-eye Maple neck - we only do set necks...we love the feel of the neck/body joint vs. bolt ons and well, we think they provide better sustain and long term durability.

- Curtis Novak Custom Set of DeArmond/Guyatone combo Humbuckers - Curtis is your guy for cool vintage pickups and he created something special with this set. One coil is a DeArmond and the other is a Guyatone and they sound amazing together.

- We took Curtis's custom work one step further and used a 10 position Freeway blade switch along with a out-of-phase push/pull switch on the volume knob to create a total of 15 unique tonal options. Combine that with a tone circuit that has a .100uf capacitor for Treble tones and you get endless tonal options to explore. From the smokiest jazz sounds to the thinnest treble tones of the earliest am radio days.

We think we have created something special with the Model '21 and there will be more Model '21's to come. But as always, we only make one of a kind guitars, never repeating exactly the same thing twice. If you like this Tri-color black on black Model '21, this is it, there can be only 1.
